Project Inkwells, A Newsletter Platform
Inkwells is a newsletter publishing platform built to simplify writing and publishing without the clutter of traditional marketing-focused tools. Designed with creators and builders in mind, it focuses on fast workflows, clean reading experiences, publication branding, and a lightweight user experience. The project was created to explore better workflows for technical writing, newsletters, and long-form publishing.

Inkwells is a newsletter platform I built after becoming frustrated with how bloated and overly corporate most publishing tools felt.
A lot of newsletter platforms focus heavily on analytics, funnels, and marketing features, but very few focus on the actual experience of writing and publishing.
I wanted to build something that felt lightweight, calm, and creator-first.
The platform focuses on:
- Clean reading experiences
- Simple issue management
- Fast publishing workflows
- Publication customisation
- Lightweight and responsive UI
- Builder-focused writing tools
The goal was to create a system that removes friction from publishing while still giving creators flexibility and control over their branding and content.
A major focus during development was balancing simplicity with flexibility. I wanted the platform to stay approachable without becoming restrictive.
Building Inkwells also became an opportunity to improve my skills in product design, publishing workflows, frontend architecture, and creator-focused UX.
The platform continues to evolve through real-world use and experimentation.
